Most of our work comes from somebody's neighbour. They watched the patio go in, saw us sweep the street every evening, and a year later noticed it was still dead level.

I started Fieldstone in 2013 with a used trailer and a plate compactor I was still paying off. There are 11 of us now, and most of the crew has been here five years or longer.

We don't sub out the work. The person who measures your yard is on the crew that builds it, and you'll have their cell number the whole time.

  • Five-year warranty on every patio, wall and set of steps we build.
  • Anything we plant that dies in its first year, we replace.
  • A real person calls you back within one business day.

Six things we do, and do a lot of.

No pools, no decks, no tree removal. We'd rather be very good at a short list, and if your project needs one of those, we'll tell you who we trust.

  • Patios & walkways

Most patios take 4 to 8 days

Interlock, flagstone and poured concrete. We dig out ten to twelve inches and compact the base in layers, which is the step most people skip and the reason most patios heave.

  • Retaining walls & steps

Engineered when it needs to be

Armour stone, segmental block and natural stone steps. Anything over a metre tall gets engineered drawings, and we pull the permit so you don't have to.

  • Gardens & planting

    Plants guaranteed for a year

Beds laid out for the sun you actually get. We lean on plants that cope with clay and cold, like ninebark, hydrangea, grasses and native perennials, so there's less watering and fewer replacements.

  • Lawns & sod

    Weekly, April to November

Weekly cuts, aeration, overseeding, and new sod when the old lawn isn't worth saving. We mow at three inches, because grass cut short burns out by July.

  • Landscape lighting

    Usually done in a day

Low-voltage LED on a timer. Path lights, uplights in the trees, and step lights so nobody trips carrying plates in from the barbecue.

  • Snow clearing

    Seasonal contracts, November to April

Driveways and walks for our maintenance clients, cleared by 7 am after an overnight snowfall. Salt or sand, your call.

How a project actually goes.

Four steps, and you'll know the price before any of the digging starts. Scroll through and watch a real plan come together the way ours do.

We walk the property with you

Usually about 45 minutes. We measure, check where the water goes and where the sun lands, and ask how you actually use the yard. Bring the Pinterest board. It helps more than you'd think.

You get a drawing and one price

Within ten days you'll have a scaled plan and a fixed quote, itemized line by line. No "starting at". If we hit something in the ground nobody could have seen, we show you before it costs you anything.

A concept plan and a fixed quote

  3. 03

    The same crew builds it

Locates are called in, materials arrive, and you get a crew lead you can text directly. We clean up every evening, so your driveway isn't a job site for two weeks.

A start date, and one number to text

  4. 04

    Then we come back

A walkthrough at 30 days and again the next spring to fix anything that settled. Most clients keep us on for weekly maintenance after that, but there's no contract to sign.

September to November

What we're doing this time of year.

The busiest six weeks of our year. If you want a cleanup booked, now is the time to ask.

  • Leaf removal, usually two visits
  • Cutting back perennials and tidying beds
  • Aeration and overseeding while the soil is still warm
  • Tree and shrub planting, which really does do best in fall
  • Lighting installs before it's dark at five

“Fair pricing and my lawn has honestly never looked better. They text before they come and they clean up after themselves, which shouldn't be rare but apparently is.”

Questions we get a lot.

Anything else, call (555) 123-4567. The office picks up during working hours, and John calls back after.

Most of the patios we build land somewhere between $12,000 and $35,000. Size matters less than people expect. Access for the machine, how much grade we have to deal with, and the stone you choose move the number more. You'll get an exact figure after the site visit, not a range.

No. The site visit, the drawing and the quote are free. For big projects where you want a full 3D design with planting plans, that's $450, and it comes off the job if you go ahead with us.

In season, builds usually start four to eight weeks after you sign. Small jobs for our maintenance clients get squeezed in sooner. Winter is the best time to book if you want a specific spring date.

Yes. We book locates through Ontario One Call before anything gets dug, and we take care of permits for walls over a metre or anything else the city needs to see.

We come back and fix it. Patios, walls and steps have a five-year workmanship warranty, and anything we plant is guaranteed for its first full year.

We cover about 40 minutes out: Komoka, Ilderton, Arva, Dorchester, Lambeth, Delaware, St. Thomas, Strathroy. If you're a bit further than that, ask anyway.

Tell us about your yard.

Three quick steps. We'll call within one business day to set up a site visit, and the visit, drawing and quote are all free.
